Watched this movie yesterday, as part of my birthday outing [just a simple movie + meal so no need blog about it =P]. Considering it’s a short movie, I was initially wondering how this movie will turn out. Well, it’s actually is quite a fun watch though there are very glaring mistakes [well… if you can call them mistakes] concerning Hancock and his wife Mary [or whatever her real name is].
It’s not your usual fare of superhero action. Well at least Hancock starts off as a very crude person, who really disregards the collateral damage from all his flying and super strength performance, and he doesn’t try to make an effort in trying to reduce the damage caused by all his actions. Until later in the movie of course.
Haha. What’s more, there’s a nice combination and mix of comedy and action, as well as some emotional acting from Will Smith. I must say the package worked out really well at the beginning until the story took a [major] twist, which of course is the Hancock-Mary issue. Haha.
As for the Hancock-Mary issue, while it’s being explained that being together will cause them to become mortal-like and need to be away from each other, I think that alone will cause a lot of mistakes to happen. Perhaps something like true love and affection for each other on top of close proximity will be a better condition? Shrugs. Since before Hancock knew the entire truth they can have one hell of a fight. But even then, there are still instances that show otherwise. Ah well, too much plot holes in that one liao. Probably the worst handled part of the entire movie, hence making its value drop a little =X You can even see the folks over at MovieMistakes going all out in this area. Lolx…
Overall, I think it’s quite a nice watch. My take: 6.5/10. Good Job! =D
