11 Years

15 04 2018

So I managed to persist with another year of blogging, and here’s the next anniversary/birthday entry. My reserves continue to grow, mostly thanks to the abundance of fighting game videos these days and with the release of quite many titles in recent times. Well, blogging is kind of a way to pen down things which I have watched over time, and it takes up the bulk of my relaxation periods so might as well. Perhaps it will lessen if I decide to pick up something else and get involved deeply into that, but this blog can probably still run for a while if I keep an effort to pull stuff out from reserves. Well, anyway, on to the usual annual statistics during the past year.

’17-’18 statistics:
– Day with most visits: 29 January 2018 (45)
– Week with most visits: 1 – 7 May 2017 (141)
– Month with most visits: May 2017 (386)
– Average words written (more like published) per day: 223.98
– Average number of visits per day: 6.73
– Average number of comments per day: 0.0055
– Average number of spam per day: 13.49

It appears that the amount I write (actually, published should be the word) has decreased in the past year, visits too, but spam count went up. Lol, I don’t see why the spam count should go up really, since it’s not really effective to spam a site which is still on the decline and all. Oh well, maybe that’s how the Internet really works. Space utilisation wise, it increased about another 1% in the past year, so it continues to be something which I don’t have to worry about anytime soon.

And since this year’s anniversary happens to fall on a Sunday when my usual weekly updates come, that update will be delayed by a day because I am still sticking to my 1 post per day habit for now. Well, I haven’t written that entry anyway so maybe it can buy me a little extra time. Lol. Here’s to more(?) years ahead. See you.

10 Years

15 04 2017

Another year has passed for my little blog, or rather the blog at this current domain and space, and now we welcome the big 10 year anniversary. Yeah I actually persisted this for a decade, with an entry every day though sometimes I pull from my reserves rather than blogging one entry every day. Well I guess on average I still write more than a single entry per day, at least in recent years. Since I have stopped my search terms series (actually it’s because it had too little data to do on a more frequent basis), there will be a small section on it after the “usual” statistics update. Hopefully there will be something to show after a year’s worth of data. So let’s start with the main stats:

’16-’17 statistics:
– Day with most visits: 2 April 2017 (98)
– Week with most visits: March 27 – April 2 2017 (137)
– Month with most visits: June 2016 (135)
– Average words written (more like published) per day: 269.73
– Average number of visits per day: 7.04
– Average number of comments per day: 0
– Average number of spam per day: 5.02

There is yet again a slight increase in number of words published, probably helped by the fact that there were some reserve entries being thrown up recently due to insufficient fighting game videos entries to go around but yeah I guess it’s still pretty low in that sense.

Space utilisation wise, it seems to be just a little over 6%, so I guess I really won’t have to worry about running out of space. I definitely wouldn’t live long enough to use all of it even if WordPress does survive the test of time for that long. Seems like my reserves activities are not sufficient to increase the usage even though I thought I have sort of drafted more entries in recent years. Hmm, maybe picture compression has improved slightly or whatever. Lol. Yeah well, let’s move on to some search terms. Let’s see what we have (to be honest, I haven’t looked at it). Hmm, on 2nd thoughts, after looking at the results, I think I will probably scrap this idea for good, unless the traffic on this blog increases to something substantial enough to have some sort of decent results that’s worth to do some random rambling about. Ah well, so I guess that’s it for this year’s update. Will an 11th entry come in 1 year’s time? Stay tuned to find out…

9 Years

15 04 2016

Again, I am writing this again during the night, something I shouldn’t really be doing on an eve of a work day, but I thought I should just keep this annual tradition while I am still at it. So 9 years ago, this version of my blog was born and amazingly, I am still at it and going forth it will be the 10th year. As usual, there will be some statistics provided, which I will mostly follow the format from last year though I don’t expect it to be anything fantastic.

’15-’16 statistics:
– Day with most visits: 20 December 2015 (141)
– Week with most visits: 14-20 December 2015 (242)
– Month with most visits: June 2015 (613)
– Average words written (more like published) per day: 254.05
– Average number of visits per day: 11.7
– Average number of comments per day: 0
– Average number of spam per day: 2.57

Seems likes there is a slight increase in the average words published per day but it remains low thanks to the majority stake of fighting game videos which usually doesn’t have too much text per entry. But I guess the reserves have been increasing in terms of entry count and I guess there are much more words written in those than the ones published. You will see them in time to come, I guess. Traffic into my blog is falling, which I suppose is contributed by the fact that it is not exactly very informative nor interesting.

After all these years, the space utilisation is still only at a mere 5% despite my “increase” in entry drafts which involves a picture/poster. It still looks very sufficient to last me though, since it’ll take nearly to the end of the 22nd century at this rate to finish it. Surely I won’t be around by then, even if WordPress still is. I guess I will be pretty much continuing what I have been doing all these while, perhaps making some changes here and there but I don’t expect those changes, if any, to be very great. I will probably see my reserves grow in the next year as well. Here’s to an unknown number of years ahead… See ya
