It is time for another movie entry, and it seems like a movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a better chance of me actually getting people to watch together and hence you see such entries “breaking” the usual flow of the appearance of the entries. In any case, this time a new superhero enters the cinematic franchise and needless to say this character will turn out to be a really powerful and probably important one in the future plans. At least in the original character is really something else, and I think the movie presentation here is also somewhat different from the other movies, probably due to the nature of this character.

As such, since this superhero’s powers are not the ‘conventional’ kind we see in many other superhero movies, his is not powered by mutant abilities nor fanciful gadgets, it is only expected and good to see that it will have its own flavour in this origin movie. Well, naturally the starting will be kind of slow because of having to introduce him as well as his journey to becoming who he is destined to be. For the most part, I would say I liked how the movie developed and unfolded though that’s from a perspective of someone who did not follow the comics though I have heard of him and a couple others mentioned in the movie. But as how I would treat most movie adaptations, it is probably also as important to appreciate it purely from the cinematic production point of view.

The character is still young in terms of appearance time, and definitely there is more to this character who will definitely be back again for more movies I am sure. So at least we should be able to see further progress and development when those times come, and I am certainly looking forward to how the cinematic universe pans out especially with the revelations made at the end of the movie. It has been an enjoyable watch for me and I noticed some details (though mostly irrelevant to the outcome of the story) which I found to be quite amusing. My take: 7/10. In the meantime, I suppose it is more months before we get to see something new from this…
