Japanese title: 僕とスターの99日
Number of episodes: 10
I suppose one could consider this as a collaboration between the Japanese and Korean side considering the female lead is a (supposedly well known?) Korean actress and the male supporting actor is a member of the popular Korean group 2PM.
Well, as much as they line up stars in this one, and actually have the main character star as a star (seeing stars yet?), it’s actually nothing particularly spectacular. At least, a love story about a commoner and a superstar is something nowhere remotely near being fresh. Okay, it also tries to integrate some (real) stars stuff in it with the constellations and whatnot, but that’s about it.
There are some nice and touching moments, but I am not quite sure if those are enough to make up for the mediocre everything else. And I suppose the tinge of Korean accent while speaking Japanese adds to some strangeness though it might have been there to add in some ‘realism’ about a Korean star specially going to Japan to film a drama series.
But I guess the biggest thing is that the ending is really kind of ‘meh’. After all that trouble they have gone through, they are both willing to reach the kind of ending just like that. Not very convincing. Not very stylish either. Haha. Overall, it’s probably one of the more skippable series of the season, at least so far based on what I have covered.
