Search Terms Volume #9

12 05 2012

Didn’t quite feel another month has passed, but I can’t change that fact. Time to take a look at some of the stats for the past month. Let’s see what we have this time round.

1. kofplayer wordpress com

I wonder why anyone would search this in a search engine rather than visiting the site directly. You are most welcome to visit my little blog space. Don’t have to be that shy =D To think there are 8 searches for this…

2. www.videonice.com

I wonder how this has anything to do with my blog… =__=

3. วันพีช วิกิ

Another language into my ‘collection’? According to Google translate, this is Thai for One Piece wiki

4. why psle is difficult

Why oh why.

5. 2³ = 3 + 5 3³ = 7 + 9 + 11

Someone tell me what is going on…

6. “내 여자친구를 소개합니다” dvd chapters

According to Google Translate, the Korean portion is “My girlfriend will introduce”. I don’t recall any show by that name.

7. www.any comment about psle

Is there special functionality for www.any ?

And here’s top 10 country stats:
1. Brazil – 125
2. United States – 86
3. Singapore – 69
4. Mexico – 47
5. Republic of Korea – 33
6. Philippines – 32
7. Japan, Australia – 31
9. Malaysia – 27
10. Indonesia – 25

These happen to be the same 10 countries as the previous month if my eyes aren’t playing tricks on me, except their ordering (and number of visits) is different. Interesting. I wonder if next month will see the same 10 countries once again, though there are a few countries not too far behind from #10 this time round. Any ideas whether I should stick with the current title naming convention, or switch to something else like Site Stats? Leave a comment if you have any constructive comments. =)

5 Years

15 04 2012

Before I knew it, another year has passed and the blog has now turned 5 years old. This will be my first such entry ever since I started working. This time I won’t need to ‘sacrifice’ revision time to update this blog, neither am I sacrificing leisure time while doing this as I am watching show at the same time. I guess my ‘skill level’ is slowly becoming higher. Haha. As usual, below are some statistics from the past year:

’11-’12 statistics:
- Day with most visits: 29 September 2011 (132)
- Week with most visits: 30 May to 5 June 2011 (445)
- Month with most visits: May 2011 (1741)
- Average words written (more like published) per day: 354.23
- Average number of visits per day: 32.484
- Average number of comments per day: 0.10656
- Average number of spam per day: 22.2951

Same with previous year, the only thing that maintained progress this year is also the number of spam comments caught with nearly some 65% increase (wow better growth rate than last year!). Legit comments increase is at a historical low, with only a mere 39 comments in the past year. Lol, probably because the contents published here do not interest many, nor urge people to leave their 2 cents or pennies. But hey, suggestions for improvements are always welcomed. There’s always the feedback page to put some constructive suggestions.

Well, I did write a little more this year on average, or rather the entries that got published, despite continuing to have a lot of video related entries. That’s surprising cos there’s something like 63% of the entries that are such, and they tend to be below the average. Probably the sitemap helped out a little. But the concentration of such entries, along with my ever so slow publishing of movie titles etc helped to continue the declining readership. Lol, I’m not so surprised about this. What bothers me most is why the amount of spam comments have increased so much despite declining visit rates. Kind of annoying if you ask me.

With me switching to Windows 7, it seems that the new way that MS Paint saves pictures before I upload them into my ‘templates’ have led to an increased usage of the blog space here. While I have fallen short of the 0.5%/year usage last time, this time round I have managed to surpass that as it now stands at 0.52% usage per year on average. Lol. But either way, the remaining space can still last for a damn long time, probably WordPress will fade before that time even arrives (assuming I’m still blogging/alive). And yes, I am still stocking up on my ‘reserves’ so this blog can continue ‘operation’ for some time even if I do lose the heart to blog.

So a year since Ken commented that the blog will continue for another 2 years at least. Do you want to review that forecast? Or do you want to stick with it? Others are welcome to make their respective guesses. Judging from the recent country stats I just checked like a few days ago, I presume that there is still this group of ‘diehard fans’ checking this little space from time to time. Thank you for all the support, and I do hope you will continue to find something to your liking here. =)

p.s. I hope to see you next year for a similar update =D

Search Terms Volume #8

13 04 2012

This month’s entry happens to be published on a Friday the 13. Well, not that I think that date has anything effect on my blog in an inauspicious way. After all, the blog is kind of declining with each passing month and it becomes increasingly difficult to find anything obscure/interesting. Anyhow, here’s what I could find.

1. naruto vikipedija

The closest word that comes to mind would be Wikipedia but if it was a typo that’s pretty amazing too. W and V aren’t exactly near each other, though the addition J is more understandable. Turns out it is Lithuanian (according to Google Translate). Ok cool, so now I have a new language to my collection of search terms.

2a. (1² 2²)³ = 5³ = 125 en 125 = 2² 11²

The math searching continues. ‘en’ is some European language I think? Can’t remember what though. And I believe the + signs have been omitted by either WordPress, left out by author (unlikely? Since with the + sign at the appropriate place would make more sense), or it is parsed as a special character by the search engines.

2b. 1.) (11²+12²+13²+……+20²)=?

Why do I get the feeling this is copied from someone’s homework or something? If so, is it that hard to use a calculator for this??

3. is the psle hard

Yes, this year’s paper is ultra hard. Right, like I would know =P

4. +michelle a top plse of 2009

Ok, so it seems + sign can be captured, but anyway, is that girl a top student of the 2009 batch? And the interest in her would be…? Perhaps she posted her study tips online. Lol

5. install mocies

What is mocies? Or is this someone searching for the movie titled “Install” ?

Since the country stats seems to be up and running, here’s a quick summary of the top 10 countries in the past month:
1) United States – 74
2) Mexico – 63
3) Singapore – 48
4) Indonesia – 42
5) Brazil – 32
6) Japan – 31
7) Republic of Korea – 30
8) Australia – 29
9) Philippines – 25
10) Malaysia – 22

Interesting. I wonder if it’s just my wishful thinking or many of these views are coming from fighting game lovers since there are quite a number of countries with active combo makers and such. Well, this country stats is still a pretty ‘young’ thing, so we shall see how it goes the next time. And yes there’s Lithuania somewhere further down (only 1 count). Perhaps I should rename the title for series to better include the country stats, if I am going to use it on a regular basis.
