One Fifth

The semester started not too long ago, yet about a fifth of it has gone by before exams arrive for the majority of us who will face at least some papers at the end of another school term. It seems fast that so much of the semester has gone by, but of course, it is probably the most easy-going and slow-paced part of the semester thus far, since most modules haven’t really gone into full speed yet. Well then, just another 4 portions of this time frame and the semester will be near its end. Something to look forward to? Or would I dread in time to come that time passes by too quickly? Heh, only time will tell. The irony.

School isn’t exactly fun and exciting so far. I mean, I don’t get to look forward to things like specially made ham and cheese breakfast. Okay, that was a joke. But seriously, somehow the modules this semester aren’t interesting. Not that I am usually enthusiastic about school and modules, but I feel that it’s somewhat worse this time. I wonder if it’s the combination I’m taking, the depth at which some modules go into, or simply because the subconscious me is still not in school mode yet. I know I do need to pick myself up like real soon before I’m consumed by the depths of the workload, but I guess that’s gonna be easy since that’ll require quite some strength =P Lol.

On a side note, all the reviews that you see being published ever since school began were actually drafted and written before the term started. In fact, I haven’t really watched much show since 3 weeks back. Probably even less than zong. =P Oh well, but those game videos entries are done up more recently as the media are uploaded by various people onto YouTube. Definitely spending less time blogging these days but I’ll try to continue to make daily updates for as long as I can manage.

Speaking of which, yesterday’s entry actually came after midnight, which really meant that there’s 2 entries today (including this one). Well, I KO-ed in bed for a time period much longer than I thought I would have. Hopefully there’s nothing wrong with me, be it physically or otherwise. Not exactly the best of times to have something (bad) crop up. I guess I will need to observe myself over the next few days and make sure that everything is fine. =P Don’t worry, I think I am still all right at the moment. =)

For the sharp-eyed readers, you would have probably noticed a new banner/link that I’ve added at the side. It does mainly movie reviews, though there are some exceptions every now and then. And it’s updated every day too. Just added for the fun of it ‘cos it seems pretty good. =) Not that I think I will contribute much to its growth or anything. Haha. Of course, I’m not going any reward for saying all these. =)

Well, I guess there’s only this much I can manage to squeeze out to write, without putting anything that I don’t want to. =P See you in September! =D

p.s. if you understood the lame jokes put into the wall of text above and got some entertainment for it, then good for you. Otherwise, too bad that you went through yet another boring entry. =P

2 Years

Yeah, it’s that time of the year again. Nah, not mugging for exams, even though I really should be doing, but rather, my blog celebrates its 2nd “birthday”. Kinda amazing how fast this 1 year has gone by, and considering so far I still post an average of 1 post per day, it’s also kind of surprising that I have actually written so many crappy entries so far.

Continuing what I’ve started last year, here’s some useless statistics about my blog (as of end of 14th April 2009).

As it is, I’ve managed to keep on blogging for the past year. It has been quite an enjoyable time, although I admit many of the entries are quite poorly written =P I also saw more people coming to my blog, I mean besides from the visits count. And it is certainly an honour that some of the more prominent people in the KOF fan community are also leaving messages and comments from time to time. That was something I really did not expect. Maybe the term “kofplayer” is too Google-friendly.

WordPress has seen quite many changes over the past year, be it in terms of layout, space allocated to each user, or even things like allowed formats for uploading. Surely it faced some (serious?) problems and bugs, especially during times where they tried to do more massive changes and tweaks, but fortunately the issues were resolved within a reasonable period of time. Haha as such, I am still able to happily type some random stuff whenever I feel like it (assuming I have access to com & internet lah).

All right, this post has been set on pre-arranged timing so that it’ll publish at the same time as my first entry. With that, I end my entry, and head off to bed. May there be many years of blogging ahead. Oh, do give any feedback or suggestions you have. Any constructive comments are welcome =)

p.s. going by the rate I’m using the 3GB space over these 2 years, I’ll need another 198 years before I actually finish all of them. Lol. 2 centuries. Right.

My Blog Turns 1!!

1 year ago, I began with this entry, and before I knew it, I’ve been blogging for weeks and months though mostly it merely involved publishing one of my many drafts. Haha, but it’s still kinda fun writing all those entries even though I know some of them are just skipped over by a lot of people. Lols.

As I’ve mentioned before, this is technically my 3rd blog on the net. Didn’t bother totally removing the previous 2 though. One of them is even linked under one of my widgets at the side of the blog. However, I’ve definitely spent a heck lot more time on this blog, even the other 2 combined can’t even match this young blog of mine currently. Hahhaa.

It’s also probably the most visually pleasing one so far. I even bothered to go make my own header pic, though due to my lack of artistic sense, it doesn’t look all that great also lah. Hahahaha, at least it’s personalised =P Hopefully someday I have more sense in designing stuff like these and have inspiration to make a new one. =)

Well, since I have sort of been keeping track of some stats on my blog, might as well share some here. Stats are accurate as of end of 14th April 2008. =D

Somehow, google manages to lump searches for torrents together with the movies, or at least WordPress shows me the search terms on google that led to visiting of my blog as such. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. Lol. Another strange thing is that both L and 老大 movies were blogged only some 2 months back and it has shot its way to “stardom” on my blog. Are these 2 movies really that popular as compared to the tons of other reviews I’ve given? *something to ponder about*…

Kinda sad that my Rumble Fish 2 “FAQ” didn’t make it there, even though that’s the page I definitely spent the most efforts on. Perhaps the lack of updates to that page can’t attract enough people, or perhaps not that many people play RF2 anyway. Hahha.

Actually, I would definitely like more discussion on my entries, but I guess discussions of shows/movies etc are already usually done on forums, so hardly anyone will actually bother to start discussions all the time. Haha. Always happy to see some constructive comments in whatever entry I write =)

Fabulous Thursday

Just had the most spectacular school day of the week, and probably will the case for every subsequent week to come except for those with a holiday/break that affects Thursdays. Well, I guess it’s because it’s the longest day of the week for me, and that there are quite a few tutorials to attend to, besides the lectures which are at 2 ends of my timetable for the day. I used to complain about the long hours to wait during the first 2 weeks, but now it’s much worse since there are other lessons to attend to. Sigh. More about the lessons in another entry I guess. This isn’t exactly my objective of this entry, assuming you can find one =P

Somehow I seem to be the most lethargic on Thursdays. Maybe because I have to wake at 6am to make it somewhat for the 8am EG lecture, which I kinda end up not listening much to what is being said anyway. God knows why I drag myself so early out of the house to go to the LT to waste 2 precious hours. Part of the reason why I’m so tired could be because (actually I think it is due to this) I don’t sleep early enough to cater for the early waking the following day. But it seems that it’s not really my habit to sleep early any more (bio clock’s totally haywire) and I’m kinda distracted by my activities on the computer.

Anyway chatted with some people, and it has once again brought me thinking about quite a number of things. Hmm, some of you might go “wah, you actually ponder over stuff?!” or something. It’s not very nice to think too deep into them, or spending a lot of time on it, especially when I’m like half awake since morning. Lol, probably end up thinking a lot of weird stuff. Perhaps I should just continue to be the everything-dun-care, and not think about such things, lest I get too emo or something. Haha. Let nature takes its course I guess. Long odds ftw?

Kk, I should go off and finish up whatever I want to do then catch up a bit of sleep. Or at least try to. A moderate day ahead of me. Tralala.

p.s. I did a minor update to my records page for an updated timing of my sudoku (hard). It’s gonna be so hard to break. Haha, perhaps I’ll only try diabolical puzzles from now on. Oh, and yesterday set the new low for 2008 so far, with 55. Heh.
