Another pretty short drama series in terms of episode length, I thought it will be a pretty interesting crime solving drama. Turns out there are lots of strange, weird and hidden elements as the story progresses. To be honest, I was quite put off by the style of the drama initially, as well as the seemingly random occurrences during the first few episodes.
Perhaps my mindset was inclined towards a more serious type of investigation, not dealing with seemingly supernatural stuff and other unexplained mysteries. The speech and dialogue can be funny, and it’s the kind of humour that is rather dark I suppose, along with behaviour and actions from the characters which seem pretty out of place for investigators.
As the drama progressed, more and more mysteries are unveiled, and at certain points in time, the show does a tinge of creepiness and it was kind of evident that something beyond ‘natural’ events are definitely involved. I was hoping for some kind of explanation that would fit in place but turns out that there are many questions left unanswered. While the ‘case’ might have been solved, I think there are more intriguing elements that were left dangling there. Although by piecing together the things that have happened since the start of the series, some “theories” can be thought up. But they remain theories until it is confirmed officially somewhere, which I’m not sure if there will be a sequel series or anything like that to explain what went on. I mean, unless there’s another case related to it somehow, it will be quite hard to make a show just to explain all these things.
Overall, it was a pretty rough start, and takes time getting used to the style and pace of the show, but it turns out to be rather intriguing and more than meets the eye as the series progressed. Really made me interested to know all the in-betweens that happen, and the reasons behind it, since it is pretty apparent that they did not happen by chance. A surprise that it turned out pretty much to my liking considering how I felt about the show initially. A pretty nice change once in a while.
