Detective Conan Movie 13: The Raven Chaser

7 08 2010

Japanese title: 名探偵コナン 漆黒の追跡者
Number of episodes: 1 (movie)

Some info:
1) Wiki
2) ANN

Continuing my movie/OVA-only approach for this title, here comes the 13th movie I’ve watched. There’s also an OVA episode titled Magic File 3 which, I think, is similar to the previous movie and its accompanying magic file, in the sense that there is some hint/relation to what will be going on in the movie, but isn’t exactly crucial to watch/know in order to enjoy the movie. Anyway, once again I did not include any official site because it’s updated to contain information regarding the 14th movie. Haha.

This time the movie seems to have more relation to the main storyline in some ways. As in, at least the baddies who made Shinichi into a kiddo appear in the movie and they have a somewhat important involvement in the movie’s progress. But of course, as I do not watch the main series (~600 episodes is too much!), I wouldn’t know the importance of their appearance, though I am guessing it’s not going to be affecting the main storyline much based on my (limited) experience of long-running anime franchise making (yearly) movies.

Solving the mystery wise, the feel is pretty much similar in some ways to other movies, but at least I found the puzzle this time a little interesting as well. Hehe. Only thing I found the way it ended a little weird. Haha. But very good job in remodelling the city in animation, with the ending credits showing some scenes of actual places in Japan. Cool.

Overall, it’s another Conan movie experience. Not too bad once again I suppose. For a non-fan of the series, I’m actually quite liking the movie series thus far. Hehe. Will most likely be watching the 14th movie as well. =D
