The second season of the most anticipated drama of the Summer Season, in which the 4th season will air (or currently airing, depending on when this gets published =P).

This time, most of the cast is changed, except for the main lead, Dr Shindo, as well as one of the nurses. Actually, the story begins without Dr Shindo as part of the crew at this hospital featured in this season, but rather through his aid and involvement, the department head recognises the talent.

Continuing from the story from the first season, it links what happened after Dr Shindo’s wife regained consciousness and the start of season 2 to bridge Dr Shindo’s “return” to the show as a main lead.

There’s no Nanako this time around, but there’s a (initially) reluctant doctor transferred from another department dealing with heart patients and research who will the lead female role for this season.

Following the similar kind of approach, the season will feature quite a number of obstacles for the emergency team to tackle, be it at the individual level, or as a group. While the formula is similar, it isn’t really re-using things already shown in the first season, but rather carefully creating new drama that will continue to let its viewers enjoy each episode as they go by.

The main season ended on a fairly positive mood, except that the original department head passed away in the last few episodes of the show, which was really the biggest sad thing that happened to the main cast. But his death ignited the passion within the various medical staff to work even harder towards a better emergency treatment centre.

As for the special episode, it continues from the end of the season, only about a year later. It is best watched after you have finished the series since there’s no more “re-introduction” of the characters nor their relationships with one another. It’s really more of a extended series to me. Nothing much out of the ordinary to write here, except that maybe, just maybe, there are some hints of romance, which I think won’t be continued to the following season, judging from the cast. I shall see when I get to that, as well as see how they bring back the duo that made the first series a success.

p.s. I wonder if I’ll end up treating this like Trick, since I’ve finished season 2 for that one for some time now, yet I haven’t really moved on to watch the rest. Lol… We’ll see.
