A pretty interesting concept, having a selected few people (12 actually) being the “saviours” of the nation (Japan of course). Or rather, they have been selected and asked to change the country for the better. Each of them are given a very powerful phone and access to 10 billion yen at the beginning. The money is meant to aid them in changing and revolutionising the country, not for their own desires. This is just one of the basic rules along with others in this “game”.
Withdrawal from this “mission” is not allowed, unless you wish to die by the hands of someone named the Supporter, supposedly one of the 12 people. The “winner” of the game will survive while the rest will still be killed. Apart from that, the phone is very powerful because only the owner is able to make use of it and make requests through Juiz (later officially revealed as an AI indeed. super duper imba advanced one at that), who can really make all sorts of things happen, at a cost, taken from the 10 billion yen. Not only it is able to make things happen, they happen FAST too.
The whole idea of being “godlike” is pretty interesting. After all, you can even bend the political and state to your request (somehow). Apart from that, each of the selected is able to view “transactions” of the others, thus being able to have some kind of idea what things they’re working at etc.
But of course, the anime will focus on one of the selected, namely #9. He first appears to be a total mystery and weirdo, having lost his memories and all. His past slowly gets revealed as the story progresses, and not surprisingly he turns out to be the one who really changed things. I’m not sure if the planned movies will cover the same things as the series, but I do hope they will show new content. The first movie won’t be out in Japan until late November, while the 2nd movie is scheduled for next year. So long time more before I can get my hands on them. Haha. Till then, I guess I’ll have to source for other things to watch, which really isn’t much of a problem for me. =P
