Ok first off, I was a little lazy in finding a decently nice picture without any watermarks or logos of various types, so I ended up taking an official wallpaper and resizing it. Normally, I do try to avoid if I could help it/realise in time. Oh wells, I guess it’s not very important.

Right, so finally you see another Chinese drama up here. Ok, technically it’s a HK drama. Actually, I have no idea why I picked this up either. Lol, perhaps it’s partly due to it being a short series, so it’s quite easy to finish up.

Haven’t watched a HK drama in a while, and this one still feels good in terms of development and all. Things move along and progress at a decent speed, though some parts require more effort in laying the ground work for other events to happen. The story is pretty simple, but somehow the feel is quite good. I suppose the different kinds of personalities portrayed by the various important people brought about a good mix and chemistry. Some interesting messages were also included skilfully, sometimes using snooker as a reference. Haha. There are even references to 武侠 stuff and also real-life people and events. Lol. Adds to the humour and entertainment value I suppose. Heh

As for the snooker parts, while I am not a player at it or anything, there are some things that can be seen quite easily. Apart from some of the special effects used to “exaggerate” the power of the shots, quite many scenes feature the cast actually taking the aim themselves, unless it’s some impressive camera trick or prop snooker table. Either way, it’s quite obvious that those who needed to play snooker have taken up lessons and training. However, some takes are obviously re-used, and some scenes do have continuity issues where the ball placing is slightly off than what it was just moments ago. Can’t be helped I suppose, since there’s a need to use various takes to cover various angles without exposing their own cameras. Lol.

Overall, it’s a pretty enjoyable drama. I don’t know whether this drama is considered a big hit in HK, but the ratings definitely seems quite good. One wonders why SG dramas almost never have such ratings. Lalala…
