I didn’t know that this anime is adapted from a visual novel, though I was half suspecting that it could be adapted from one of those games. Why? Cos there’s a guy who’s obviously the main character and seems so useless yet girls of all kinds start to gather around him as the story progresses. Hahaha.
However, if anything, the anime initially left me quite clueless on what was actually going on. There were too many unknown and mysterious factors, but being a short series, clues had to be gradually revealed as each episode went by, which isn’t too bad trying to piece together the bits and pieces to have an idea on what is going on. Though with that said, there are still quite a number of illusions and delusional thoughts that the characters sees/thinks of which can make it a little annoying when it’s actually not real. Lol.
Sadly, the big bad villain doesn’t really have much time to be developed or anything, which left him rather unconvincing as the destination of where the story should head to. Some of the relationships between the main male character and the girls are also a little messed up, but oh well, it could have been worse, I think. At least the background concept was rather interesting (to me), but that’s like the best aspect of the show. Haha.
Overall, being a short series has its own shortcomings, or maybe some of it was inevitably due to the original content of the visual novel (which I haven’t come across). Nice concept, but the execution wasn’t at its best to better develop the show into a great one.
