Japanese title: 島根の弁護士
Number of episodes: 1 (TV Special)

As the title suggests, this 1.75 hour special will be about this lawyer in Shimane. Shimane is supposedly a place where there are very few lawyers, and this newbie lawyer Yamazaki Mizuho (played by Nakama Yukie) is the 37th lawyer in town.

Besides being new to the job, she’s also kind of clumsy and careless which doesn’t really aid her in doing her job well, but at least she has a passion for helping every client that she takes. It is probably her emotional “involvement” that really helped her to complete each one with a good ending. Haha. Well, it can get a little draggy and boring when the drama tries to get all emo over something.

Other than focusing on her job as a lawyer, there’s also this side story of her thinking that her mum is still alive (unlike what her dad claims) and is still living in Shimane (her mum’s hometown). It’s pretty obvious to the audience quite early in the show due to the kind of hints and clues they drop, so it’s kind of waiting for the moment to arrive thing rather than being kept in suspense.

Oh there seems to be some continuity errors in the show, or maybe I’m just a little too picky about these things. Haha, a couple of them are quite obvious and rather important (imo) though, which isn’t a good thing. Hic.

Overall, I thought that this drama special wasn’t anything outstanding, but it ain’t exactly bad except being a little draggy and boring at some parts of the show. An average show I guess. =).

First Day of Exams

26 04 2009

And I’m 40% done, paper count wise. Yeah, 2 papers so early in the exam weeks, and on a Saturday at that. Definitely not the best of days to be having 2 papers, much less having 2 less than friendly papers. Haha, morning was stats followed by the not so fun logic paper in the afternoon.

Well, for both papers I thought it would have been worse off for me, but on hindsight, what happens to me isn’t the main concern. It’s how I fare relative to the rest of the cohort taking the module that really matters in the end. Hopefully Mr. Bell would be slightly kinder to me this semester so that my CAP doesn’t fall too much. It isn’t good to begin with already.

Oh well, all I can say is having 2 unfriendly papers definitely drains most of the energy out of me. And this time, somehow the 2 hours per paper seem to pass much quicker than what I felt from the past semesters. Is it due to me thinking harder because the module contents are harder now, or…? I guess it’s probably a bit of both. Sigh. In any case, I need to put in extra effort for the coming papers, especially the Life-is-difficult module.

Well then, I guess I should go off and enjoy myself for a bit before starting work again. Wonderful life. =)
