The second season to the highly popular Shana series. Sure took me a long while before I started on this and finished it up. The story continues from where it left out the last time (iirc) and has more developments about almost everything in the story.
There’s actually quite a fair bit of the relationships thingy this time around, although it proves to become a (imo) somewhat important element through the course of this season. Of course, there’s still some kickass action, spells and whatnot, all packed with decent/good animation and voice acting. The arc of the season I like more was the Sabrac incident, ‘cos I felt the entire arc was well done.
On the other hand, I thought that the ending few episodes were a little hastier, trying to put an end to the series while including a somewhat huge crisis/situation. It probably would have been slightly better if there was a little more time (perhaps an extra episode) to better pace things.
While things are sort of tied up in the end, with some strong hints of who Yuji chose, there are still many things left that could be exploited for future use. Perhaps that’s the whole idea. Maybe there will be a Shana season 3 next time, considering the popularity of the show as well as the possibilities that could be expanded upon.
Overall, this season is not too bad, although sometimes I felt that it was focusing a little too much on the relationships issue. Nonetheless I still think it’s pretty worth watching if you have watched and liked season 1. =)
