Hmm, to try something new, I’ll be pairing up a couple of OVA eps in each entry to come so that it doesn’t look awfully short =P Anyway, first up, the first OVA of Detective Conan
Japanese title: 名探偵コナン: Conan VS KID VS YAIBA
Number of episodes: 1 (OVA)

Well, I can only say at a first glance it’s kind of a weird title because there’s Yaiba inside too. For those who don’t know, Yaiba (wiki link) is another creation by the author of Detective Conan.
Turns out that the whole is caused by Conan’s dream, since he was reading too much manga (which happens to be Yaiba).
Perhaps it’s a good way to promote his own other works, but since it’s made into a “dream”, it becomes kind of a weird episode, especially with the ending, which is rather disappointing, since the show’s selling point (at least to me) should be solving cases with logical deductions and stuff.
Oh well, I suppose it’s something different for Conan fans to collect, since I think this was only made available on DVD, which of course is targeted at the fans.
Well, next comes the 2nd half of the entry, which of course, features the 2nd OVA of Conan. Lol.
Japanese title: 16人の容疑者!?
Number of episodes: 1 (OVA)

While the title this time sounds more interesting, it turns out to be much less interesting than I thought it would. A party that got all the regulars of the show invited to (except people like Kid). The case doesn’t really happen until quite late into the episode, which is like kinda late for a standalone OVA episode.
Needless to say, the case didn’t take very long to solve, not that it was interesting to begin with. A simple case of finding the culprit who broke a precious wine bottle.
I must say it’s kinda disappointing episode this time around. Heh.
