Based on a manga, Shibatora (nickname for Shibata Taketora) is literally a baby-faced police officer who gets mistaken for being a middle/high schooler. This feature of his allows him to be scouted as a potentially good choice to perform undercover (supposedly illegal) operations into juvenile crimes. Also, being a manga, the main lead, not so surprisingly, has a special power, and in this case is able to see whether someone he has come into physical contact will be facing death soon. Apart from that, Shibatora also has this very strong tendency to have faith in people and that they can change for the better no matter how bad they may seem to be at the present state.
Well, the series will feature Shibatora undergoing a few undercover operations into various smaller cases which are actually linked to 1 main “baddie”. It also involves a little bit of his past, as well as that of his close friends’, making the entire thing a quite tightly knit issue. Portions of the history will be revealed as the story progresses, but it doesn’t really make all that much of a difference in the end as I had initially thought. However, I thought the ending was a little anti-climax. Somehow all the big evil plans just amounted to nothing as it never really got into the real thing. Sigh, to think I was looking forward to some chaos. Oh wells.
I found the earlier parts of the series somewhat better, and it started going downhill (for me) towards the last couple of episodes. Perhaps it was due to the direction the story suddenly took which imo messed up the flow. Otherwise, I think this drama series is not too bad considering some of the unreal elements present from the very start.
