Kurenai is actually the name of the main male lead, who happens to be a student but also working as a dispute settler. The story begins when he’s tasked with protecting a girl from a powerful and wealthy family. Due to weird practices of that family, the 7 year old little girl hasn’t seen the outside world, neither does she know some of the very “common sense” practices and behaviour that the average person does in the “real world”.

Thus, besides being her bodyguard and his job as a dispute settler, Kurenai has to also put up with all her Lady behaviour as well as educating her about [simple and common] things that are in this “new world”. This is mainly done through moving the series into a more “slice of life” style. I guess this is pretty much the highlight of the show to me, as it shows more entertaining and fun times, although the main storyline is also important.

The truth behind the Kuhouin (the family the girl is from) is finally revealed, and indeed it’s quite shocking. It does contain ideas of incest, but well, it proves to be a very good reason to how things turn out towards the end of the show. Lol, of course I’m referring to the opposition of the continuation of such a practice within that family. Don’t get things wrong =P

Of course, the other important characters also have a bit of history themselves but it usually isn’t so elaborately gone into since the focus is still on the little girl and her family and traditions etc.

Overall, a short anime series that has its own fun times but it gets down to business, it could be quite ugly for some. Haha.
