After watching the drama serial, followed by the live-action movie adaptation, I’ve finally finished season 1 of this well-received series. Yeah I know, I got the order all messed up, but it doesn’t really affect how I judge this series anyway.
What does affect how much I expect from the show would really be other people’s over zealous enthusiasm about the show. Haha, yea Jon that’s you =P While I don’t find this anime series bad or anything, it somehow doesn’t reach the kind of level Jon describes it to be =P
It certainly has quite some fun, jokes and stuff. It’s enjoyable but I think it’s better to spread it out rather than to finish it in 1 or 2 sittings. Imo, it feels better watching a few episodes [to satisfy the "crave"?] then pausing for quite some time before moving on to a new “batch” of episodes. But I know some people prefer to finish it all in 1 day or something =P
Of course, many of the events look very familiar to me because they have also appeared in the drama series. However, not surprisingly, there’s a lot of stuff that didn’t make it into the drama series [because of sheer time constraint + need to modify to suit a drama style better].
Overall, I think it’s well worth the watch. Just avoid the live-action movie ok? [Maybe I'm just biased against it...]
