5 more papers!

19 04 2008

Yeap, 5 more papers, then it’s holidays!! Yah lah, 5 papers means I haven’t started my written exams yet lor. Yes, I’m a normal mortal taking 5 modules per sem, and all of them happen to be examinable. Lol. Just in case some 6 or 7 module taker passes by and “shoots” me. Hahahha.

Then again, even after the papers end, the results will be released shortly at the end of the month (May). Ah well, whatever the results are also can’t do anything about it at that point in time le, so might as well just concentrate on enjoying the holiday break! Yep, I not taking any module during either of the special terms. Lol.

Anyway, just like that, 1 year worth of academic studies at the university level is going to end. That’s like 25% of the entire process liao (assuming no drop-out etc). It didn’t feel that long ago that I just restarted my academic “career” after serving 2 years worth of NS and some months of waiting. Lol.

More importantly, it seems I didn’t really achieve that much in Uni. Then again, it’s not surprising since I don’t really put in a decent amount in most of the modules I take anyway. Haha, so grades wise, it’s bound to suffer bah, but I’m somewhat ok with it as long as I can maintain a 3+ CAP, preferably greater or equal to 3.5. Lols.

Well, if anything, I’ve made some (new) great friends in Uni since last semester. For now, we take many common modules so can still spend a considerable amount of time together without going to much lengths. Lol. This can probably continue for another sem or two, before our majors will make us more split up due to the modules we need to take. Perhaps joining scheme was one of the best decisions I made since entering Uni. It’s kinda sad it’s in danger of being removed due to MIT’s withdrawal of teaching this way of approaching programming methodology. Hopefully Dr Ben (my 1101S lecturer) will be able to convince the SoC committee (whatever makes it up) to keep the module. The friends I’ve made there are probably going to stay with me for the entire uni course, and most likely beyond. The small class made us closer to each other, and of course the way the class was conducted also helped in further interaction. Sometimes I really wonder what I’d be like now if I had taken the java route from the beginning. I’ll be sure to treasure these experiences and friends =)

Now that year 1 is ending, perhaps I ought to start changing my attitude towards my studies. Level 2 modules, I suppose, cannot be so easily dealt with with my current way of operation, especially when many of the remaining modules require group work of some sort, and isn’t the trivial type at all. Lol. Whether I’ll actually improve or not is really questionable, seeing how disciplined I am when it comes to serious stuff. Haha. Ah well, I think just let it takes its course can liao. Don’t wanna try any more =P

All right, off to relax a bit, before even attempting to try anything related to studies. Heh.

p.s. I hope my 2100 isn’t pwned too badly. Sighs, see the results how lo. Good luck for the exams, especially the uni peepz around.
