A drama special episode based on the same manga title, which also has an anime series version before this one. Personally, I haven’t read the manga, nor have I watched the anime series, so I can’t really judge how this is with respect to the original manga/anime series. Well, I guess it’s rather popular since there’s a drama serial version about a year after this special aired, which I’ll probably be reviewing if/when I finish watching it.
This special is about 1.5 hours in length and mainly features the kids’ first adventure to this Detective Academy’s examination and go through various tests and examinations to qualify as students of a special detective class, called Q [Qualifying] class. They solve some devised “crimes” and exhibit their various characteristics through working together and trying to forge a sense of teamwork and togetherness.
Objectively, this special doesn’t really show that much, but it probably lays the groundwork for the serial that airs later on. Not sure about that either though, can only answer it when I actually get to the actual series. Haha.
Oh yah, I can recognise some of the child actors/actresses by sight and a quick look up on Wiki indeed shows that they’ve appeared in serials that I’ve watched before. Hohum, does this mean I’m starting to watch too much JDorama as well? Hic.
Do take a look at this if you’re into such genre of shows, but some parts may seem a little not so realistic as you would think a mystery show ought to be.
