This is another short Chinese movie, but it kinda messes with you along the way since the main lead, (retired) Inspector Bun is sort of crazy and has illusions of many things, which also happens to be one of his “gifts”. He is able to see the inner personalities of people, and sometimes the movie really does use different people to represent the inner personalities.
A supposedly complicated case is made worse when the director decides to show you the personalities speaking instead of the real person, which makes you wonder whether it’s Inspector Bun’s pure imagination of the dialogue and all or it’s just the image of the personality on top of the voice that the real person is saying. It also takes a while to understand which are the “people” that are really illusions and which are the people that are really present in reality. Visualisations of possible enactment make things even worse (for me la).
Oh wells, at least in the end, things sort of fall into place. Good thing it’s a short movie, or I would have probably been seriously “/blur” to the max. Haha. Oh wells, at least the director did a decent job in presenting the various illusions and visualisations.
I’m pretty sure there are some movie mistakes but I was too distracted by all the confusion I was in to pinpoint the exact stuff. Nice work by the production team. Haha.
My take: 6/10. Didn’t like the confusing experience. Bleah, a more straight-forward approach might have been better, though I know some parts are done to further portray Inspector Bun’s train of thought etc.
p.s. Taking so long just to attempt to finish 1 assignment. Sighx. Work, work…
