This 24 episode anime series is kinda a letdown as it progresses. It actually started out being rather promising with the main character (centre as usual) returns to Japan after he was “abandoned” by the Kannagi family because he was unable to control fire in a well-known fire mage family. He’s known to be a vicious wind mage and it so happens he’s kinda framed for things he never did the moment he returns to Japan.
Honestly after the first arc, the subsequent mini-arcs are more of like standalone in my opinion, with most of the content independent of future events. Maybe I have expected too much from this series. Heh. Oh wells, at least there’s some entertainment along the way, with lame dialogue/actions and funny things that happen.
However, in the anime, our main character doesn’t seem to be very vicious most of the time though he’s very sharp with his words and actions. Heh. Perhaps that’s why when he suddenly went into his old self (supposedly), it appeared nothing more than just being in berserk mode. And indeed, the wiki article tells me that in the novel, our main character is not so Mr Nice Guy. Hahaha.
Ok, this anime is also aired in 720P resolution, so yah, the drawings and graphics are quite nice. The elemental effects do look quite nice at times, especially during the fights. Well, that doesn’t mean there’s no over-re-use of animation. Whenever the female lead summons her weapon Enraiha, it’s almost always the same animation sequence. Lol. Ah well.
Oh by the way, the ending seems to suggest that the story can potentially go on, but I doubt so, unless there’s still something up the producers’ sleeves. If there really is a season 2 or something I might check it out. Hah.
Overall, I’d think this anime series is pretty ordinary. Watch it if you want. Heh.
