Phew, finally cleared this 50 episode anime. Been neglecting this for quite some time now. Hehe. It’s an enjoyable anime, though as with many fighting-based anime titles, some things are exaggerated (well, that’s anime what…).

There’s a quick summary on how the story develops on the Wiki article, so I’ll just leave it to your own reading. Anyway, I think the enjoyable things about this series are the following:
1) The humour and comedic scenes that are present throughout the entire show. Comedic stuff are (almost) always liked by me, so yeah, that’s definitely a plus. But ok lah, quite a number of them are highly predictable. =P

2) Kenichi uses whatever he picks up along the way while fighting off challengers who target him. In a way it’s quite cool, though his physical endurance from all that training is a little out of this world. Haha. Well at least it’s not the same 2-3 (special) moves every fight which I’ve seen some anime titles do that before. Interesting to see new combination attacks, and ways to counter his opponents’ moves. Hee.

This series also has some of the usual anime “flaws”. Like the main lead starts off super lousy, gets trained by super masters, gains skills and fights off enemies along the way to further “level up” etc. Haha. But ok lah, overall still very enjoyable, so it’s all right to overlook some of those. =D

Didn’t find anything very special about the OPs or EDs, but the inclusion of classical pieces (insert song) was something unexpected. Ahahaha. Oh wells. And for the supposed amount of fighting (violence) shown in the anime, the amount of blood spilled isn’t very much, or at least not very much is explicitly shown. Perhaps it’s to make it more acceptable/suitable for kids to watch this series.

Quite a nice anime. After all, it’s a popular manga as well. Heh.
