斗剧07 Volume 6

Wow, 6th entry in the series. This time it’s Soul Calibur III (Arcade Edition). Yup, as usual, gotta thank KOFIA.

This time, it’s another individual competition, no teams whatsoever. Well, that only means the video footage isn’t that long, with a total of 1 hour 43 minutes from the top 32 to the winner.

I noticed there were quite a few Ivy users in the top 32, but they were slowly eliminated by the other players. Heh. Well, the final match was a very close one with Astraroth (see picture) winning with just a few pixels of HP left in the final battle (each player won 2 rounds each). To be honest, I preferred the Setsuka user who ended up as 1st runner-up. I guess Astraroth’s damage cannot be taken lightly, even though Setsuka is supposed to have a speed advantage. Sighx, the Setsuka user does things pretty cool, getting quite a few perfects/near perfects top 32 to the final match.

In general, the matches are quite nice, seeing how many Guard Impacts those people can do (or maybe Guard Impact isn’t supposed to be hard) and of course executing combos easily (ok lah, I’m lousy at this game what) and being able to predict where the opponent will roll/recover to to further punish with extra move(s). Certainly entertaining enough cos I didn’t feel 1 hour+ has gone by just like that. Haha.

Now for some interesting things. First up would be that the person who lost to the Setsuka user (mentioned above) during the semi-finals was the winner of Soul Calibur 2 when Tougeki had that game in its list a few years ago. And back then he was also using Mitsurugi as he did during Soul Calibur 3. He must love Soul Calibur and Misturugi a lot. =D And another thing about opponent facing off with that Setsuka user is that in the quarter finals, there’s this Ivy user (the furthest any Ivy made it to) had this super ego/proud look & aura around him and honestly I didn’t like him one bit, so I’m kinda happy he lost (since Setsuka is cool anyway!). End up that proud Ivy user ended up sulking (or maybe crying cos cant see face) after he lost. He’s really a sad case siah~ (and yah, that’s why I prefer Setsuka to win… haha)

Oh yah, and props to the Zasalamel for making it into the semis, since I think he isn’t exactly that great a character to use. Hehe.
