Yeah well, for some of the more explicit scenes of blood and gore, NC-16 is kinda expected. There’s 1 scene that I find it kinda disgusting, which would be the the “close-up” on 1 of the pregnant victim’s (human of course) throat, seeing the alien stuffing some stuff down (erm, those aliens that “hatch” out, forget their names… lazy to find out).
The wiki article is pretty detailed for a 1.5 hour movie, so yup that’s about what happens in the show, though the movie itself places more emphasis on the alien creeping up on its victims etc, if you know what I mean. In fact, quite a bit of the movie is to show the aliens’ manifesting by infecting humans. Though the show does feature some particular people living in that town, each of them is quite a brief touch and go since there really isn’t much time to focus on each of them, not that it’s all that important anyway. Haha, sometimes it just allows more room and opportunities for aliens to sneak up on, hence trying to create a “scary” scenario, which is mostly contributed by the sudden loud boom in the theatre’s speakers.
The solution to the AVP war is quite nicely executed by the US army. Bomb the hell outta them. Haha. But ok lah, many residents of the town were also sacrificed in order to contain the situation. Sigh, wonder why the US army didn’t use this solution for “I am Legend”, lols.
Ok la, I shall just bash a little bit further about this movie. Firstly, why would they want to wear bulletproof vests when they already know the enemies they’re facing aren’t firing bullets and is obviously something that your vests won’t be of help. Those vests are supposed to be of some weight, and it’ll only slow down their movement (I assume most of them aren’t trained in wearing that), wouldn’t that make it harder to RUN away from aliens, or predators for that matter? Another would be M’am O’Brien (actually I dont know her rank, but heck it’s to differentiate her from the daughter) seem to have a rifle with a mega big magazine that can last so long. Not once during the ending part of the movie did I see her change weapon or reload but somehow she always had something to shoot, unlike the others who can finish up their bullets.
My take: 5.5/10. Really nothing much, as usual from AVP. Haha. I’m just weird enough to watch it anyway. Hic. Oh, and judging from the ending, there might be AVP 3 too. Hehz.
p.s. i really hate the Bidding stuff.
