Just finished this series not too long ago. Seems that it’s quite popular. After watching it, this series reminds me of something I’ve watched before but I can’t seem to pinpoint to a specific series. Somehow the feeling is similar. Then again, many anime storylines have their similarities here and there so it’s not surprising I guess.

I think I’m missing something important (or several things), since I dont quite see the rationale behind the hype I see at some places at all. Maybe this isn’t exactly my kind of anime. Can someone tell me what’s so special about this series?

The music’s not bad though I didn’t bother trying to find the OST. Pacing wise it’s also quite good, considering it’s a 13 episode series. I’ve had more terrible experiences with series of similar lengths before. I guess that can be considered one of the good points of Sola.

There’s 2 DVD-exclusive episodes, which isnt uncommon these days. I think it’s one of the methods the Japanese companies are using to try to increase sales for their DVDs. The first DVD-exclusive episode is like some sort of a filler and doesnt feature any concrete development to the storyline and stuff. Kinda disappointing if you ask me. As for the 2nd DVD-exclusive, it kinda shows a little bit more info from the TV series, though it’s perfectly all right if you miss out on that one. Pretty ok I guess, even though there’s nothing really noteworthy about, other than the photos were nice. Haha.

Read the wiki for a feel of what the show’s gonna be like and decide for yourself if you want to try watching this. I wont do any recommendation this time. :D
