Chocolate Galore!

Nice right? =D Got ‘em from school today. The top chocolate bar is from my discrete structures lecturer, who offered this to every student (who went for the lecture obviously) this little gift as an apology for missing Wednesday’s lecture. More on that later.

Right, so the Rocher was from Dr Ben, who gave them out as a prize for winner of each category of Scheme contest. There are also gummy bears (or something like that) for 2 other teams in each category which achieved an honourable mention. Yeah, so somehow, of the 3 categories, namely the Freestyle, Beauty Pageant and Star/Star-in-Circle contests, my group (not really my credit though) won the first 2 (which aren’t graded for the problem set =_=), becoming the biggest winner this time around. Not surprising since my group leader is the “MVP” who has a minimum of honourable mention (won once previously) for every single Scheme contest prior to this robot contest. Yeah, the box originally contained 16 pieces, Zihan ate 4 and took 4 home. I took 8, and Jon took the other box. Dom opted out cos he’s ill. >.<”

I’m actually quite shocked that our robot could win the beauty pageant. Lol, does it look very beautiful? Yeah, we did add the GG “logo” in the front, and a “1101S” at the back, but was taken down halfway during the beauty pageant “judging”. Seriously, the GG thing was just for the fun (and lameness) of it. Heh. No prizes for guessing who came up with the idea and pieced those blocks together. But then again, maybe the letters GG appealed to the judges, who are essentially males. Lol… If the entire judging panel consists of females, I doubt this would even get honourable mention. Hehz. Oh and by the way, during the “pageant”, our robot is the only one placed on top of some paper/cardboard because our design of the pen “holder” is such that the tip touches the ground by default, and we’re lazy to cap it back (troublesome), so yeah. Haha.

As I was talking about it earlier, the other chocolate bar was given by the lecturer. He missed the lecture on Wednesday. The TA said he had something urgent to attend to, while the ivle announcement says something very different. Whatever it is, it’s already over. Looks like there won’t be any make-up lectures. To make up for “lost time”, he skipped some of the proofs for certain theorem which are supposedly not that hard. Well, I kinda agree since some of them I can eyeball and think of a rough solution liao. But oh well, I’m just gonna wait for his presentation next week since I want my notes to be as accurate and good as possible. Don’t want to degrade it by doing something on my own, just in case it’s wrong. Hehz.

Anyway, he presented this transparency before proceeding to do some funny actions, asking to be “forgiven”. Lol, kinda funny in a way. A prof doing such things. Quite a sight I think. Probably won’t get to see much of such things, if at all, for the other modules in NUS. Hehz. Anyway the face is supposed to represent himself (yeah he’s bald), hahaha. Many others took a picture of this as well. Hahaha.

Now that I got quite a stock of chocolate, I suppose I can enjoy it sometime in the future. =D It’s been a while since I’ve had chocolate enjoying aircon in my fridge. Lol.

Haiz, another dreadful weekend to come~ DG7, PS6 will be more than enough to kill. Sighs.
