For those who know are proficient in jap or do know bits here and there, you might be able to guess where the story will be heading. Indeed, it’s about this girl, Uzaki Aiko (played by Ishihara Satomi) who has this super over-protective father (due to his super excessive love) and has to live under the house rules which include a daily curfew of 7pm and guy-gal relationships are not allowed.
For a 20 year old, certainly the curfew may seem a little crazy. Haha, after all it’s some kind of exaggeration put into place in a drama. With her dad constantly interfering with her affairs (from work to love to whatever you can think of), many comedic scenes take place during the first few eps, and gave me a good laugh. An entertaining way to relax myself after being bugged by school work, though time is needed to watch each ep as you know each one lasts for 0.75hours.
Certainly there’s a lot of fun and laughter in the first few episodes, but the show tries to tackle more serious issues at hand. Not too bad actually though sometimes it seems the events that occur are kinda “forced” to some extent but the overall flow was still quite good. There are lessons to be learnt which most (if not all) of us know at least theoretically. I guess it’s to emphasize on certain things, like family relations etc.
Just something I noticed: towards the end of the show where Aiko starts reading out the letter left behind by her mom, at the end of the letter signs off Nov ‘86. The letter was written a while before she’s born and it happens to be dated quite close to the actress’ real birth date, about a month before. Hehz. At least she’s acting her age huh. =D I wonder why I notice such things. Hic.
Anyway, it’s quite an enjoyable show though I thought the first half was better perhaps due to all the fun and laughter I got out of it. Not a bad series to watch imo, though it’s definitely not the best out there.
