Japanese title: 聖闘士星矢 冥王ハーデス冥界編
This series is the sequel to the OVA titled Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter – Sanctuary and actually has 2 parts to it. It’s been considered to be in 2 parts because there was like a 10-month break in between. Even during its airing, only 2 episodes were shown per month, which sure kept fans waiting. This seems to be a special case where I dont really see a standard way to categorise this series as a single series or 2 series split into 2 parts on some of the bigger anime “encyclopedia” sites. Oh wells.
I’m not really a fan of the Saint Seiya series but I did manage to catch the prequel to this show I’m reviewing quite some time ago when someone lent me that series. The story continues in this OVA so I guess it’s all right to watch its sequel.
As expected from looking at the Wiki page, the OVA ends right before the Saints enter the Elysion. So I guess we can expect another Saint Seiya OVA some years down the road perhaps.
You can expect similar anime presentation if you’ve watched some Saint Seiya production before. For those who havent got an idea what it’s like, then too bad :P At least they kept the style throughout the years, though sometimes it can be a little time-wasting (draggy dialogue etc) and recap of previous ep’s content can be a little long as well. Well, at least I got to know more of the Saint Seiya storyline, which I could happily read from Wiki articles or other sites “specialising” in Saint Seiya. But knowing me, I don’t really like to read if I had a choice. Lol, I guess reading subtitles is a different thing all together. =D
I guess this anime is targeted at viewers who are Saint Seiya fans, or simply for those who want to carry on with the storyline. I doubt few will want to start their Saint Seiya adventure with this title.
p.s. modified seats on 151 sucks big time. and the availability of bells to press sucks big time too. only good when few people want to take the bus, which obviously isn’t when I take to/from school.
