Underdog certainly brings back some vague memories of the cartoon series that I once watched on TV. I’m sure many people intend to watch or have watched this movie because they wanted to see what the live-action movie will look like (I’m one of them).

Yeah, it’s a very short movie (less than 1.5 hours >_<) but I can’t think of how it can be any longer without boring the audience. Ah wells, at least in this short movie there are enough jokes to keep you laughing only to find the ending is kinda bad. However, the acting can be quite lousy at times, so yah dont expect too much from the acting skillz. After all, the dog is supposed to be the main lead of the show. Pay more attention to the animals! Hehx.

A lot of CG is used (like duh) and some looks very fake lehz. Not convincing at all, kinda disappointing in some sense. Honestly if there are going to make a sequel, they better improve on that area. Bish.

Anyway just for some spoilers, there are 2 “versions” of Underdog’s hit-line before “There’s no need to fear, Underdog is here.” That would be “There’s no need to worry, Underdog is furry” and “There’s no need to fight, Underdog’s got bite”. Lol, some people are too free eh, to think of such things. Hehz. For more spoilers regarding the storyline, just head over to the wiki article lo. Haha.

As for the movie mistakes, those that involve Underdog’s super power have to be excluded. Didn’t take a close look at the dents and damages done to property as Underdog flew and crashed through objects. I’m sure there’ll be a mistake or two from those scenes. Ok lah, there are a few involving Jack (Underdog’s owner). First would be when he was typing the fake excuse note. At a close up, it shows clearly he press the caps lock a few times, yet in the letter itself, the part of the line he was typing then contained no capital letters, so yah. Next would be when Underdog dragged Jack into the sky. Never mind that his clothes wont tear even though it was trying to support his entire body weight on that pathetic piece of cloth. Underdog flew ABOVE the clouds. Yeah i understand if underdog doesnt feel cold, after all he’s blessed with superpowers, but our dear mortal Jack doesn’t feel cold so high up in the sky (in fact he should be freezing if I rmb my stuff right) and instead he does a Superman pose kind of thing (for the entertainment value). And uh, sometimes we can hear animal speak even though their mouths aren’t moving. Lol… Ah well, at least they did a decent job with many, many scenes. So yeah.

My take: 6/10. Go have a good laugh or something. You might want to watch on a weekday though (cheaper mah).
