Moonlight Mile/ムーンライトマイル
20 09 2007This anime is slightly different from others in the sense that it feels like an animated drama. It’s about space missions and the various political/military elements that influence the progress and development of space-related projects and missions.
So far, anime series I’ve come into contact with that involved space related stuff are usually either mecha-based or those mankind tries to fend off some invaders to prevent his extinction shows. Thus, I could say that this series is unique in its own way.
Certainly, there’s still a lot of fictitious stuff (or so I believe) in the show but I think some of the scientific related things are still quite realistic in that sense. I’m no expert with stuff like that so I can’t even pinpoint exactly which are the more realistic aspects of the show. Of course, as with most anime, all characters regardless of their nationality can communicate in Japanese which obviously wont be the case in reality. But it’s all for the convenience of producing the show and proceeding with the storyline rather than spending time trying to get messages across using a roundabout way (maybe communicating in broken/non-fluent English or something).
There’s also some adult stuff every now and then, but I think that isn’t the main focus of the show. So you can just overlook it if you can’t stand such stuff. Lol. Not to worry, it’s nothing too obscene or anything. Hahaha…
The 12 eps I’ve watched is merely the first season of this show, while the 2nd season is currently airing now. So those who are expecting a full story might want to wait for season 2 to finish its airing before watching this show. However, those who want to watch the 1st season can certainly do so since I dont really think it’s a cliffhanger ending so it should be all right. :)
