Each of the 3 guys want to hunt down this group of robbers, though each of them having different reason for wanting to do so. This group of robbers have their own target to hunt down too, which would be the person who betrayed them 6 months ago during their robbery. Each of their background stories are told and events that will bring them together will unfold…
Ok, this is rather long for a Hong Kong action movie, but some of the time was spent on those emotional scenes which I found, sadly, to be rather time wasting since it’s not very convincing. Not like it adds more value to the show or prevents it from becoming a pure action flick.
Action/fighting scenes wise, I think overall Nicholas would have the most out of the 3, probably due to his experience in such shows. Jaycee, on the other hand, has the least even though that’s what his dad is famous for. Some fighting sequences were quite nice, while others were pretty normal.
There were also some comedy scenes, mainly in the first half of the show. Oh well, at least can get a good laugh for a bit. Better than nothing. Hehz. And hmm, Aaron Kwok has a sorta cameo role in it. I wonder how much he’s paid for this cameo. Lol~ But he must be happy though, since he’s the elder brother (only 3 years older) of Jaycee in the show.
Quite a few of the firearms/weapons props look pretty fake. Especially when they show it really up close. Btw, I think glass must be one of the more “economical” props to break and still be able to create the effect needed for action scenes. Or maybe this director loves to break glass. So much was broken. I wonder how much glass that amounted to.
Now for more things I’ve noticed in the show. Sudoku was featured again. I wonder if it’s still that popular in HK now. As usual, various sponsors can be seen. From the (4WD) cars to phones and laptop etc etc. To me, such sights are getting more & more obvious which can be quite annoying at times. Lol~~ And oh, the credits have full english and chinese text for every cast/role/crew. I wonder what’s with the efforts to put in the english names as well.
So much for putting effort into the credits, the dubbed audio seems quite disappointing. Yea Chinese dubbed audio to cater for people who can’t understand cantonese but there were several occasions that the Chinese audio comes out at a different time (usually earlier) from the subtitles and some words can be left out, besides the usual rephrasing. If the subtitles were timed to the Cantonese audio, why couldn’t they just dubbed the Chinese audio at the right time? Quite a disappointment imo. And of course it’s not very enjoyable at times. Sighx.
Last but not least, when the credits appear, there are still extra scenes to be seen. And of course a bit of how they filmed the show. Do stay back and take a look.
My take: 3/5.
