Japanese title: 白夜行
Havent reviewed any drama for a while now. 1 month later, here comes another of JH’s drama reviews. Enjoy~ :D

This is another Jap Drama that’s quite talked about from what I see. Well after all, it reunited most of the cast and crew of the hit drama Sekai no Chuushin, Ai wo Sakebu (did a review on this earlier). Well of course with such a reunion, people will tend to think that the production team wants to continue to ride on the popularity of the previous drama since the combination proved to be good. Thus, people started comparing and had expected rather a lot from this show.
Certainly, from what I know, reunion of this magnitude is hardly seen in Jap dramas so having people who greatly look forward to this show with considerably high expectations isn’t surprising. However, the stories of these drama are of different plots though both are rather sad in nature. This show is more of a dark one, easily seen from the short synopsis given.
An incident that happened in their childhood days left them living a life of lies and covering up. To prevent the real truth from being let out, the duo will go to all ends and use all means to make sure that things stay the way they are. There’s 1 part that could be disturbing to some though. Beware :P
Even though they love each other they would have to pretend to be strangers until a certain date, presumably the amount of time needed in the eyes of Japanese Law to forbid the re-opening of a case. By treating each other as the fake Sun (I dont know how to express this, gotta watch to understand. i’ll take too long to explain) is one of the ways they keep moving on despite doing things that are against their wishes. This will be the one thing that shapes the entire story and its events.
Besides having this good on-screen pairing again, the theme song that goes along with the series is also by the same singer of the other series. Another great song with the lyrics quite suitably written for this show. I wonder why it wasn’t awarded the Best theme song back then.
Somehow I dont find this story touching probably due to the dark elements in it. And being a story of this kind, definitely someone (or two) had to meet an end as I dont think a happily ever after will be appropriate and accepted. In the end, 1 of them dies and the other kinda loses hope in life.
Even though I kinda expected an ending something like that, towards the later half of the show I felt that the show wasn’t as great as its earlier half. But overall it’s still quite a good drama to watch.
