Another game I tried out today. Took a while to get used to the controls and gameplay. This game is more of a piloting simulation that’s not from a first person view, but rather from a camera view that seems to be not very smart at times since it gives rather a screwed view. Tried out VS mode (against the CPU duh), arcade mode, and challenge missions mode. Good thing being the gundam fan, he already unlocked all the pilots (think only difference is the voice actor/actress) and mobile suits so we could mess around with anything. Lamed around trying to get used to the game. Continued umpteen times during arcade mode. I suppose 2Player co-op made the AI harder and having at least 1 inexperienced player each time is not helping things much. Later on, I co-operated with him to complete all the challenge missions he could not complete alone and managed to unlock the remaining artwork pictures. Thanks to him intro-ing an “imba” mobile suit that seems to be able to abuse and pwn the AI. As for the remaining unlockables, I think FAQ is needed for that. Just blindly playing around will probably take a long, long time if ever to unlock the rest of it. Probably wont be touching this again? Shrugs.
Apparently there’s an arcade version (as in real arcade cabinet with the game) available, but havent seen it around. Maybe the lack of visiting of arcades like those in Bugis could be the reason or SG simply didn’t bring this into their arcades. Well SG lacks a heckload of things and is always WOLS WOLS (just to what extent).
Unlocked a few more things today. Not much though. Still got a heckload of things to unlock. Really sick if you want everything unlocked. Sheesh. But anyway found out from the tutorial mode how guard impact works and moves in SC3 can actually be cancelled (though i never did actually succeed even once). And that isnt even a master technique tutorial yet. So i guess sc3 is a much more complex and versatile game when played at high levels. Perhaps that’s why they made so many unlockables that require so many re-plays. It’s to force you to improve your skills so that u can unlock stuff at a faster rate and of course u *should* improve after all that playing.
Maybe i should check out this year’s tougeki tournament videos in the future when it’s out, especially those finalists’ matches, which ought to have at least above average standards sparring with each other. Even with that i suspect i wouldn’t be able to appreciate even half of the beauty in their playing abilities. Heck, maybe the only game i will understand is KOF98 since it’s hitting back in the tournament to sort of promote the upcoming KOF98 Ultimate Match which has some new stuff. Once again I’ll probably not get to play KOF98UM unless it pops up in an arcade.
Okay, other than games i’d like to just comment on the TV Mobile shows. I know they do show repeated telecasts of the same show, but what’s the odds of watching the SAME SECTION of a show in the same day? On the way to Yida’s house, i watched this section of Our Makan Places - Lost and Found, and on the way back (like 8-9hours later), it’s showing the SAME part that i watched. Almost the exact same starting point earlier in the day. Too much of a coincidence man… Scary. And during the trip to Yida’s house, after the Makan show was a show Switchin’ Kitchens, which i also watched about the same duration on Monday on the way to his place too. Really eerie man the coincidences >.<
I wonder if i’ll want to go play more PS2 this week. Been neglecting some things here and there. Lol…
