A few Jap Clips

13 05 2007

WK got bored and pasted some links to some videos. Had a look at them, thought they’re quite interesting so just putting them up here.

The 1st clip shows a japanese sword splitting a bullet from a shot fired from a pistol. Of course i’m not saying a samurai can win in a fight with an armed person but it just goes to show how sharp/tough the sword is. Perhaps u have seen documentary/ies on Discovery channel before but i dont subscribe to those channels so this is the first time i’ve seen footage like that.

Then i guess they decided to test it further. This time they use a machine gun. Of course, the blade splits but it’s after it came into contact with a 7th bullet. That’s pretty tough for you huh.

Now for something more fun. This showcases the 2nd man (so far) to complete all 4 stages of obstacles in this Jap TV show titled Sasuke. I dont know how many times Makoto Nagano has participated in this competition, but definitely many times since under the results segment of the wiki article, his name has appeared several times. Anyhow, he’s really fit and strong to be able to clear all those obstacles. It’s no wonder only 2 people have cleared all stages since it was first started. I bet he’ll clear SOC supremely fast.

That’s all folks…

Even More Rumbling

13 05 2007

I did it!! Top score at AMK Jubilee arcade for the game, Rumble Fish 2 (so much for the unlikeliness). Too bad no camera phone to take picture. Aiyah, forgot to ask EY to take a picture using his HP. Dang. To think he actually went down. The rest of us no camera phone lor…

Re-tried Typhon after learning his command move for his grab which the com seems to be able to abuse it against novice players like myself. Seriously, i’m not good at using the joystick since i fail 9 out of 10 times while trying to do b,hcb (back, half circle back) motion. Without that move, seriously typhon is really rather easy to predict and it’s kinda boring since there’s very limited ways of being offensive already.

Also tried to use Mito in primarily Tsumi stance. Spamming uppercuts seem to be effective against AI especially the last boss who likes to do air recovery so much so I had a nice time taking off half her hp bar when she got stuck at the corner. But this tactic would hardly work on a human player unless he/she luvs to jump towards me that much. Still couldn’t figure out how to freely switch between her 2 modes, which is essential for some combo that appeared in a Japanese VS match that i saw on Youtube.

Whoever was using Mito is like 1,000 times better than me. Switching between modes like nothing. Perhaps there’s some kind of trick to it that i haven’t grasped yet. For the magnificent combo (opponent Sheryl became dizzy that’s why the hits got reset), refer to 2:33 till the end of the video. Of course, you’re welcome to watch the entire match since it’s a good display of Mito.

And so, I managed to complete the game with a 2nd character. Apparently, Clarence is better at the game since he has 1 more character than me but he played the game wayyy more times than I have. Heh. Hope i can add a 3rd character soon too. ^_^

Anyway, it’s already not bad considering it’s my 3rd day at playing this. And of course I dont play it for the WHOLE day. Dont have that kind of money. Seeing other people play can let me see more things like how to abuse AI or getting a greater feel on how certain characters are played.

Well then, I’m off to do other things now. Until next time~
